We’re Not Just Building a Conference. We’re Building the Dayton Hearing and Balance Community.
Sinclair Community College, Dayton, Ohio. Held in conjunction with the Grandview Family Practice Review.
A Conference Designed Around the Patient Journey
Patients with hearing loss, dizziness, and balance disorders often move between primary care, audiology, vestibular physical therapy, ENT, neurotology, testing, treatment, and rehabilitation. Better outcomes depend on those professionals understanding one another and working together.
The First Annual Neurotology & Vestibular Care Conference is designed to bring those disciplines into the same room for practical education, stronger referral relationships, and a more connected regional care community.
Three Ideas Drive the Conference
Interprofessional
Audiology, vestibular PT, neurotology, primary care, ENT, and other disciplines learning together.
Clinically Useful
Practical, current information clinicians can take back and apply to patient care immediately.
Locally Grounded
Built to strengthen the Dayton and regional hearing and balance community for the long term.
Built for the Professionals Who Share These Patients
This is not intended to feel like a traditional ENT conference.
Audiology and vestibular rehabilitation are equal partners in a multidisciplinary conversation that includes:
- Audiologists
- Vestibular physical therapists
- Neurotologists
- Otolaryngologists / ENT physicians
- ENT and other medical residents
- Nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Family medicine physicians
- Other clinicians involved in hearing, dizziness, and balance care
Practical Education Across Hearing & Balance Care
Programming is being developed around the real clinical questions providers face every day.
Potential educational areas include:
Hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation
Cochlear implantation
Modern audiologic care
Dizziness and vestibular disorders
Vestibular testing
Vestibular rehabilitation
Vestibular migraine
Multidisciplinary management of the dizzy patient
Integrative approaches to vestibular disorders
Nutrition and vestibular migraine
The Conversations Between Sessions Matter, Too.
A major differentiator of the conference is intentional professional crossover. The conference will share an atrium with the Grandview Family Practice Review, creating a natural gathering point for family medicine, audiology, vestibular PT, neurotology, and ENT.
That means more opportunities for:
- Primary care physicians to meet the local specialists and clinicians to whom they refer hearing and balance patients
- Audiologists and vestibular physical therapists to build stronger relationships with referring PCPs
- Specialists to better understand the full patient journey before and after referral
- Regional professionals to develop relationships that continue well beyond the conference
- The goal is bigger than CME: create a stronger community around hearing and balance care.
